Has its roots in the wartime Whitefield Home Guard Concert party. For many years plays were presented in the All Saints Church Hall. In 1975 the rehearsal room converted many years before from a small machine shop in Bank Street, underwent a further transformation into a small Theatre. During the next few years the facilities were improved, until in 2002, land was purchased & the present theatre was constructed. The older building became the Foyer, Dressing room and audience facilities.
Five productions
are normally presented each year, each for eight nights.
Becoming a Theatre Patron entitles the holder to a ticket for each play, and priority booking for one guest
. Tickets for each production are on open sale for the week preceding a show.
The Current Building
Has 86 seats, arranged on three sides of the stage, and enable the Society’s trade mark “minimalist” staging style to be continued. Technical facilities have been upgraded and whilst not “state of the art” the productions are well supported by light and sound.
